Lexi Jayde release sophomore EP titled “Closer To Closure”
Lexi Jayde released her sophomore EP earlier today, taking her fans through her breakup process.
Wesat down with Lexi last week to chat about the EP, her experience working with industry professionals, and what this breakup has been like for her.
After creating this EP and going through the entire production process, do you think you're any closer to closure?
I think this EP is the closest I’ll ever get to closure with this breakup. I tried to find closure in so many ways, then when this project was complete I knew this was what I was searching for. I think it’s very hard to officially get full closure from someone who broke your heart, hence the title. That’s exactly why I named the EP “closer to closure.”
What's your favorite song on the EP and why?
This is probably the hardest question I’ve ever gotten asked! I really don’t have a favorite. I chose these 9 tracks out of over 60 option so they really are all my favorite! I think they all have a separate special place in my heart.
You've been able to work with some incredible people on this project like Nick Ruth and FINNEAS. What has that been like?
It’s been incredible. I feel lucky that I’m able to create art with such talented and amazing people! Doing what you love with the people you love is the best feeling. This project wouldn’t be what it is without everyone that was apart of it.
I feel like you're the master promoter when it comes to gearing up for your releases. Why is promoting your music on Tiktok, Youtube, and Instagram so important to you?
In general, I want my fans to always feel like they are involved in my work. Whether or not it’s teasing songs, asking if they like it, or showing my process, I want people to feel like they are on this journey with me. It’s super important as an artist to connect with my fans in every way possible! I also just love promoting my stuff online and getting people’s reactions.
What is something you wish you could tell the Lexi that just barely went through this breakup?
Oh boy! There’s so much I would tell her. I would just hold her and give her the biggest hug. Tell her that she is so beautiful and so worthy of so many things! The biggest thing I would tell her is “you’re going to be okay. I know it’s the worst pain you’ve ever felt, but soon you are going to be the happiest you’ve ever been. You’re going to get through this.” She would be so proud of the growth I’ve done and the person I’ve become out of all of this.
