Amy Allen, an up-and-coming artist just dropped “What A Time to Be Alive” featuring Pink Sweat$, and you’re going to want to hear it. Allen is an extraordinarily talented singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist, who has absolutely lived up to her spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 List by making amazing music herself, as well as collaborating with artists like Sam Smith, Harry Styles, and Taylor Swift. Pink Sweat$ is best known for his hit tracks like “Honesty” and “17” (though my favorite is Coke & Henny Pt. 2) and his groundbreaking take on R&B. This song is an embrace of a somber side to both artists’ sounds with a soft, nostalgic music video and tear-jerking lyrics.

Amy Allen shared that this song is a note to future generations, saying, “[we’re] asking what we’re doing to ensure a more beautiful, more safe and more sustainable planet.” This theme is scattered throughout the song with lyrics like “guess the kids won’t know what they’re missing anyway”, “would you wanna live in a world that isn't right?” and “everything we’re fightin’ for in the gray”.
