Lindsey Lomis talks to us about her new EP, touring with Joshua Bassett and more

Singer- songwriter Lindsey Lomis caught up with Our Era moments before she opens for Eddie Benjamin at the Moroccan Lounge. Just days before, the artist began her tour supporting Joshua Bassett. She joins Editor in Chief, Lucy Ivey to talk all things tour, songwriting and producing her upcoming EP, “Universe.”

Lucy: How have you been?

Lindsey: I’ve been so good. We started touring two nights ago in San Francisco and it’s been so much fun. I have a band this time- they’re these two badass chicks and it’s been so cool playing with then. I had a band when I was touring with the Brook and The Bluff, but I never left my guitar so it’s been fun moving around on stage and being able to interact with the audience.

Lucy: I bet. How has the audience been reacting?

Lindsey: Josh's fans are truly the best people I've ever met in my life. They’re just so attentive. Being an opener, that’s not always the case but this time, it really feels like they want to be a part of what you're doing. They interact and they give you their full attention and they just want to be a part of the show.I feel so lucky.

Lucy: I love that. What has been your favorite part of performing other than interacting with the audience?

Lindsey: My band. I love Mikee and Heather- they are so badass.

Lucy: I love that. So tell me about the EP you’ve been working on.

Lindsey: Yes! So I wrote these songs four or five months ago. I worked on them with my collaborators, Kole and Ariza. They’re awesome- everytime I write with them it feels almost like therapy. When I was writing the title track, Universe, it was a super fast process. It was almost like as soon as I stepped in the room with them it felt so good. This sound and this songwriting has been exactly what I’ve been wanting to get off my chest.

Lucy: I love that so much. When does it come out?

Lindsey: April 14th.

Lucy: That’s so exciting.

Lindsey’s newest single off the Ep, “Bad News/ Good News” was released last week. Stream the song here and stay up to date on all of Lindsey’s endeavors.
