Picture this: It’s a rainy December day in 2019, and you’re bored at home hanging out with your twin brother, James. The two of you decide to come up with a dance to later post on TikTok. A few hours later, the video starts gaining thousands turning to millions of views. That was Jack Wright's reality. “After that first video went viral, my brother and I got invited to the house where all the popular TikTokers were living at the time. It was terrifying to go there because we hardly knew anyone, but I was very happy to learn that they were great, normal people,” he told me. Entering a new industry as intimidating as social media, it is hard not to feel a sense of imposter syndrome. “I definitely had to get used to it, but it was comforting to realize that everyone was dealing with the same things. We were all in high school or barely graduated, and so we were just in the same boat.”

Since those first trips to LA, a lot has changed for Jack. Not only did his fanbase grow immensely but his videos changed as well. The social media star went from creating content with his twin brother to James later moving to college. “My content has become a lot more about who I am. I miss making videos with my brother but it’s been cool to show my personality too,” he tells me. Jack's videos have evolved more and more each day. From posting comedy content, to travel videos, to showing his experience at Milan & Paris Fashion Weeks, Jack is the epitome of a versatile creator.

Growing up in Temecula, California was always running around exploring his surroundings. “I was always the kid that was like running off and getting lost,” he tells me. Always in sports and involved in various extracurriculars, Jack later found that dance was an outlet for him. “I was very quiet and always running off to do my own thing.” To this date, Jack is just like that. He is always traveling, going to the beach, and enjoying nature. “At the end of the day, being outside is honestly my favorite way to recharge,” he tells me.

Social media is such a grueling world and Jack has been through his fair share of ups and downs throughout his time in the spotlight. His want to share his experiences battling his own mental health and break the stigma is incredibly inspiring. “I struggled so badly as a kid and I really thought I was so alone in what I was going through,” the advocate tells me. “I didn't feel like I could talk about it with anyone because I didn't want people to think I was crazy but I think opening those conversations and speaking about it allows for other people to open up as well. Having a safe space to open up is so crucial.”

One of Jack’s most recent pursuits has been acting. Spending time taking classes and really understanding the art has been something he has fallen in love with. “I've been obsessed with movies and TV shows since I was a kid and I think it’s such a beautiful and inspiring art form that I want to be part of in the future,” he tells me. Jack's passion and love for acting is so evident when he talks about it.

Jack tells me about how helping others through his content has ended up helping him in return. “It’s scary posting about it at first but I think getting that feedback was really helpful and rewarding.” Jack's content has helped a lot of people and he has been increasingly more vulnerable in each of his videos while sharing his experiences.

Jack’s biggest supporters in his life are his parents, Joy and Will. They have been there for him through it all, always encouraging him to do what makes him happy. When asked what advice he would give to his younger self, he answered promptly. “So many people are going through similar things to you and it’s so important to reach out and ask for help. It may be hard but it’s so worth it.” Jack's efforts to inspire the next generation to speak their truth and start these tough but important conversations is so important today in our world that is changing everyday.
